Ratepay is a dynamic and innovative fintech company dedicated to revolutionizing payment solutions in the online retail sector. We empower e-commerce businesses with flexible and secure payment options, allowing them to optimize their revenue streams. As a Senior Accountant (m/f/d), you’ll be a key player in our accounting team, taking ownership of critical financial tasks while collaborating across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. You’ll also be the go-to expert for both internal and external audits, helping us maintain compliance and excellence.

 
Key Responsibilities:

Independently prepare monthly and annual financial statements (main ledger) with precision and attention to detail according to IFRS and HGB.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns, advance VAT returns, recapitulative statements, and other tax returns.
Take a proactive role in internal and cross-departmental projects, providing your accounting expertise to help drive company initiatives.
Support day-to-day accounting tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of financial processes.
Review, verify, and post incoming invoices and other business transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Prepare detailed reports and analyses and respond to ad hoc financial inquiries from various stakeholders.
Serve as the key contact for internal and external audit-related queries, ensuring transparency and thoroughness.

That's what you bring along

- Fluency in German and excellent command of English, ensuring clear communication with internal and external stakeholders
- A completed commercial apprenticeship or training as an Accountant, or an equivalent qualification; the qualification of “Bilanzbuchhalter” is an added advantage.
- Several years of experience in accounting, with additional exposure to project management being a plus.
- Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS accounting principles, combined with expertise in SAP and MS Office.
- Ideally, you have experience with Navision and a good understanding of German VAT law and other tax laws.
- Passion for accounting and a commitment to contributing to a fast-growing company with enthusiasm and dedication.
- A collaborative, team-oriented attitude, along with the ability to work independently and take ownership of your tasks.

Als Senior Accountant (m/w/d) sind Sie eine Schlüsselfigur in unserem Buchhaltungsteam. Sie übernehmen wichtige Finanzaufgaben und arbeiten abteilungsübergreifend zusammen, um eine genaue und zeitnahe Finanzberichterstattung zu gewährleisten. Darüber hinaus sind Sie Experte für interne und externe Prüfungen und helfen uns, die Einhaltung von Vorschriften zeitgleich mit hervorragende Leistungen zu gewährleisten.

Hauptaufgaben:

Selbstständige Erstellung von Monats- und Jahresabschlüssen (Hauptbuch) mit Präzision und Liebe zum Detail nach IFRS und HGB..
Sicherstellung der rechtzeitigen und korrekten Einreichung von Umsatzsteuererklärungen, Umsatzsteuervoranmeldungen, zusammenfassenden Meldungen und anderen Steuererklärungen.
Sie übernehmen eine proaktive Rolle bei internen und abteilungsübergreifenden Projekten und bringen Ihr Fachwissen im Bereich Rechnungswesen ein, um Unternehmensinitiativen voranzutreiben.
Sie unterstützen die täglichen Buchhaltungsaufgaben und tragen zum reibungslosen Ablauf der Finanzprozesse bei.

Sie überprüfen, verifizieren und buchen Sie Eingangsrechnungen und andere Geschäftsvorgänge und stellen Sie dabei die Richtigkeit und Konformität sicher.
Erstellung detaillierter Berichte und Analysen und Beantwortung von Ad-hoc-Finanzanfragen verschiedener Interessengruppen.
Sie fungieren als Hauptansprechpartner für interne und externe Prüfungsanfragen und sorgen für Transparenz und Gründlichkeit.

Das bringst du mit

Fließende Deutsch- und sehr gute Englischkenntnisse.
Abgeschlossene kaufmännische Ausbildung oder Ausbildung zum/zur Bilanzbuchhalter/in oder eine gleichwertige Qualifikation; die Qualifikation „Bilanzbuchhalter“ ist von Vorteil.
Mehrjährige Erfahrung im Rechnungswesen, wobei zusätzliche Erfahrungen im Projektmanagement von Vorteil sind.
Ausgeprägte Kenntnisse der Rechnungslegungsgrundsätze nach HGB und IFRS, kombiniert mit Kenntnissen in SAP und MS Office.
Idealerweise haben Sie Erfahrung mit Navision und ein gutes Verständnis für das deutsche Umsatzsteuerrecht und andere Steuergesetze.
Leidenschaft für das Rechnungswesen und die Bereitschaft, sich mit Begeisterung und Engagement in ein schnell wachsendes Unternehmen einzubringen.
